How acupuncture can help you
Acupuncture is an evidence-informed therapeutic approach that is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been studied extensively in clinical research.
Fine, sterile needles are gently inserted into specific acupuncture points to influence the nervous system, circulation and endogenous regulatory processes.
Acupuncture may assist you with a range of conditions:
-
Research shows acupuncture may be effective for a range of conditions — particularly musculoskeletal pain (including back, neck and osteoarthritis pain) and headache disorders such as migraine and tension headaches, with benefits often continuing beyond treatment completion.
-
Evidence also supports acupuncture’s role in reducing nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy and surgery, improving seasonal allergy symptoms, and relieving postoperative pain.
-
Emerging research suggests acupuncture may improve sleep quality and insomnia symptoms, with some studies showing greater improvements compared to medication, and it is generally well tolerated with minimal side effects.
Beyond these areas, acupuncture has been studied for stress, anxiety, menstrual discomfort and other symptoms, with mixed but promising findings that warrant further investigation. A note here: it is quite inconvenient testing the effectiveness of TCM in a Western scientific paradigm. One of the main issues is that it is hard to work in a standardised way, which is what Western science requires.
While research varies in quality and methodology, many clinical guidelines include acupuncture as a treatment option for specific conditions, particularly pain and migraine prevention.
At Flow to Grow, we believe relaxation lies at the basis of healing. Therefore, other modalities such as grounding bodywork and blissful sound immersion may be suitable to guide your body into a deeper rest, where deep healing can occur.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a gentle, evidence-informed therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, using fine, sterile needles to support your nervous system, circulation, and the body’s natural healing processes.
It is commonly used for pain conditions like back, neck and headaches, and may also support sleep, stress, digestion, menstrual health and overall wellbeing.
At Flow to Grow, treatments are designed to guide you into a state of deep relaxation—because when the body softens and settles, it can begin to restore and heal more naturally.

Sound immersion
Sound immersion is a deeply restorative practice that uses therapeutic sound and vibration to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and guide the body into a state of profound rest.
Through gentle tones and frequencies, it can help release tension, support emotional balance, and improve sleep and overall wellbeing.
When combined with acupuncture, the effects can be beautifully complementary—working together to settle the mind, regulate the body, and create the space for deeper, more integrated healing.

Lonne works with the body in an intuitive and responsive way, drawing on a style she has developed throughout the years. Training in shiatsu, Chinese remedial massage (tuina), and relaxation massage inform her bodywork practice.
She blends techniques to soften and release tension in the tissues, encouraging a more free and balanced flow throughout the body. This hands-on approach not only supports physical ease, but also helps to calm the mind and regulate the nervous system, making it a valuable support in stress and trauma healing.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, bodywork also prepares the body to be more receptive to acupuncture, allowing the effects of the needles to integrate more deeply. Each session is guided by what your body needs in the moment, creating a space where you can unwind, reconnect, and feel well.
